Catoca Diamond Mining Angola

Catoca diamond mine in Angola, west Zambia and Zimbabwe is the fourth largest diamond mine in the world, owned by mining company Endiama, the state mining company of Angola. Endiana only has 32.8%, the rest is owned by several companies including: Alrosa of Russia (32.8%), Odebrecht of Brazil (16.4%), and the Diamond Finance CY Group BV (16.8%). The mine is located on a kimberlite pipe. Endiama (Empresa Nacional de Diamantes) is the national diamond company of Angola has the exclusive concession of mining rights in the domain of diamonds. Catoca diamond mine is joint venture between Endiama and ALROSA. Endiama company produces 8.55 million carats diamonds in 2010.
